Report from the Edmonton Day of Action Events

Our event in Edmonton was really well attended by the media. We started out at noon in Churchill Square, constructing a mock-clearcut, with actual salvaged tree stumps (not very easy to move around in retrospect). Some of us were dressed up as Boreal creatures. And we had price tags attached to the stumps with messaging along the lines of "cut for catalogues... price: global climate change."

We had written a bunch of boreal songs, so we panhandled the square, as boreal animals displaced by habitat destruction. We handed out information to people visiting the square, and then took our banner and the songbooks, and paraded through the adjacent mall, handing out more information about the Boreal. All in all it was a great event. Thanks to everyone who participated in this day of action!
