The group got together in a Cafe at the corner of Vancouver's Broadway and Commercial at 12.30. Jennifer was waiting for us with the printouts of two kinds of posters: the "Wanted" Poster and the "It takes 90 years to grow a box of Kleenex" ones.
Unfortunately Jennifer, despite a ton of dedication, was too sick to stay with us so we split in three groups of two people and decided to travel lightly with only tape – Wheat paster (made with flour and water) is better for the environment though - and we'll use it next time around.
We spent one and a half hours covering the area with our messages. As usual people were very friendly and interested, giving some positive feedback to us. I got a funny comment from a young man, as he saw the poster “Wanted, Kleenex…” he gently told me “I have a box of these at home if you really want”, I really doubt he was being ironic and just be there to help in a friendly Vancouver way.
Anyways, after the action we got together in our original meeting point and got a chance to get to know each other a little better. It was really an interesting conversation that gave us the real desire to keep working together.
Among other things we discussed about creating our own posters to emphasize the message and make it even more “to the point” for viewers – with Charlie having computer design skills and the rest of us some clear idea about the message we want to deliver, that and a little bit of energy is all we need after all.
