Activists guerilla poster newspaper boxes: subversive advertising at work!

Julien getting ready to poster

On Saturday September 24th, Julien, Sheila, Mat, Brent, Charles and I met at a local coffee shop in Vancouver, BC to organize our next event.

About a month ago we had the idea of turning free daily newspaper stands into Kleercut ad boards by placing Kleenex Wanted posters in the door of the stands – it’s the second time we use this method and its been very successful as a way to get information about Kleenex and forest destruction out to the public.

When we were out on the street we spent some time watching pedestrians who were reading the posters with interest -- the message is getting out!

On a side note, I meet more and more people who are aware that Kleenex tissue products and Kimberly-Clark are destroying ancient forests and who started changing their buying habits.

You can download posters, print them on recycled paper and display them in your neighborhood @ the following link: Download materials

It is very easy to do, no paste needed, all you have to do is to slide the poster behind the glass of the door!
We split in 3 groups of two so that we could cover different areas in Vancouver : Waterfront/Burrard, Granville and Kitsilano.

It is also good place to start before ramping up your own bigger campaign (like something for the Boreal Day of Action) in your city: a couple of hours of effort for the future generations.

Kleercut Activists in Vancouver - ready to start guerilla advertising

As we say: “One generation plants the trees; another gets the shade.”

A big THANK YOU to Brent, Charles, Sheila, Mat, Julien.
